Stacy Makishi is a Hawaiian-East London artist whose mongrel interest in all things Art has her creating some diverse and hilariously-honest live performances.
In sequence to her internationally successful play The Making of Bull : The True Story, Stacy returns with her play The Falsettos. Tracing the failed operatic career of her mother, Stacy looks on with a euthanasic-sympathy at this now-elderly woman’s fragile state. It is a viciously comic and nervous approach to Stacy’s own aging, with elements from the Sopranos, ET and On A Clear Day You Can See Tomorrow starring Barbra Streisand. It is an exciting play that promises to tick your boxes- whatever they might be.
Stacy Makishi’s play is commissioned by Chelsea Theatre as part of the SACRED season and will be performed there on the 24th and 25th May.
